Microsoft Ignite 2023 Startup Updates
Microsoft Ignite 2023 just ended and few new things I came accorss from the sessions. The message I belive I do get is Microsoft planing to re-host into cloud world in GIGNATIC shape.
Having said that I mean, so far there are couple of cloud players in the market and the way Micrsoft is going to re-design and re-architecting Azure infra and services that it will take almost every cloud business needs.
Here are few things that Microsoft CEO mentioned and they are the game changer. Microsoft is going to host and lead AI space, and to be successfull in AI era, they build devices, strategies, and services.
Let's start..
Azure Cobalt - First Giganatic CPU designed for Microsoft Cloud - An arm-based processor tailored to run general purpose compute workloads on the Microsoft Cloud.
Arm technology was a key element. It aims to optimize “performance per watt” throughout its datacenters, which essentially means getting more computing power for each unit of energy consumed.
Azure Maia - Microsoft Azure Maia AI Accelerator, optimized for artificial intelligence (AI) tasks and generative AI.
Both of them are for Azure OpenAI Service or Microsoft Copilot services.
By the way, I like the names.
Microsoft Copilot - Azure OpenAI Copilot stack is a service that provides access to large-scale, generative AI models that can understand and generate natural language and code. We can use these models to power a wide range of scenarios such as writing assistance, code generation, and reasoning over data.
Microsoft working with NVIDA, AMD and many more to build the platform.
Azure AI model catalog - Model As A Service - Welcome Code Llama, Jais, Phi, Mistral, NVIDIA Nemotron, and more to the Azure AI Model Catalog.
