Upcoming top five O365/SharePoint features in my opinion
Here are top five Office 365/SharePoint features in my opinion. A few already released and few are on the way and will be rolled out very soon.
Enable the communication site experience on classic team sites - Communication site is being used for sharing information like corporate news, reports, announcements, townhall news and other information in a visually compelling format. Microsoft now allowing classic team site can have this feature. This is done by a very easy tweaking thing and just running a PowerShell cmdlet(Enable-SPOCommSite -SiteUrl <URL of target site>), turn your modern communication site features to your classic team sites.
However, please remember there are few rules there to enable this feature. Like site must be the top-level site in the site collection and must be a classic team site that is not connected to a Microsoft 365 group. Here you can find in detailed about this feature - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/modernize-classic-team-site. Good new is it is rolling out!
Lists app in Microsoft Teams – Using as tabs, you now able to create a new list or add your existing list in Teams' channels. I love this feature. However, this is in development phase now and Microsoft targeting to release this by August 2020. Check this out at https://intrazone.libsyn.com/a-home-for-all-your-lists.
Microsoft Lists - forms customization – Using out-of-box forms, you can now adjust the information shows on forms and include custom header and footer imagery and information. There are a lot you can easily do while working on the form and here is a sneak peak - https://resources.techcommunity.microsoft.com/microsoft-lists/. This is again in development phase now and expected to be release on August 2020.
Calendar view on SharePoint List – You can get a sneak peak of calendar view on any list with items that use date column information in a calendar view. Love this. Again, this is in development phase and expecting to come on August 2020. You can get more information on specific to list development here at https://resources.techcommunity.microsoft.com/microsoft-lists/
There are many features currently are in development phase which are fantastic, and Microsoft has a solid plan to release them in another few months. Enjoy SharePoint!
